Reflecting on 2021

The Chisos impact is growing and we have so much to be thankful for!

This year Dimitri came on full time. Allison and Kris threw in. It's truly a team effort around here supporting the Chisos community. We still know your names and still love writing handwritten notes to y'all—and especially receiving postcards in return!

The enthusiasm and generosity of the community made a difference not only to us, but to the non-profits y'all supported through our events and donations. Together we threw some great events, made some fun videos, and helped conserve Texas land and support locals doing right. It's truly something remarkable to witness.

None of this would be happening without you. Below are a few of the highlights you made possible. Thank you for the difference you make in our lives!

Do Right, Love Texas

2020 Highlights

Our 2nd Anniversary Concert in November was a night to remember! Together we raised thousands for Texas land conservation, watched some incredible musicians, and enjoyed the companies of hundreds of people from the Chisos community. Watch the recap video here!

The team is a little bigger now! Kris, Allison, and Dimitri came on board to grow us up from a tiny business to a true small business! Hat tip to Christian for packing and shipping all spring. And of course a huge debt of gratitude to Katie who came on board for the launch and first year of Chisos' existence.

We partnered with our friends at Ocotillo Films to produce and premiere the story of Emilio how he guides people in West Texas.

The ladies and gents in the ECF business group stopped by Chisos HQ to hear stories and offer their critique of our comfortable cowboy boots. The support of so many is invaluable to our underdog team here at Chisos!

Founder & Chief Texan Will Roman partnered with BMW to explore Texas' natural landscape. Along the way we got video of the the world's largest bat colony, gator hunting, and noodlin'! Check out all the episodes here.

Austin kicked off the quarantine cobwebs in May with a helluva event—all raising support for the Texas Military Forces Museum. Watching the recap video makes us appreciate the generosity of our awesome community.

This is a photo of part of the shipment from our biggest day ever! Y'all gave a lot of gifts over the holiday season and we wanted to share this little (big) win with you.

You asked and we listened! Our first new heel since launching, the Chisos No. 6 is our new roper boot. And we added a spectacular Chisos Reserve roper as well in full South African ostrich.

A core part of our mission is to enable those doing right around our great state. Chisos donated to over 14 charities last year that we think are making a strong impact.

Dimitri sat down with our Founder & Chief Texan for some boot-side chats. Watch the playlist to get Will's thoughts on the perfect boot and what the values are that Chisos customers seek.

Austin local Jared Padalecki wears Chisos boots in the new Walker Texas Ranger tv show! We're big fans of Jared and are pretty damn proud that the fictional Texas ranger only wears Chisos as part of his dress uniform.

Chisos had its first magazine cover! Read the article in Austin Life Magazine about Chisos' impact on the land.

The most popular video of 2020 was our boot cutting video, so we cut it down (wink, wink) and made it 50% shorter. We hope you love watching the remix!

Cheers, y'all.

Our love for the great state of Texas—and enthusiasm for cowboy boots—motivates just about all that we do. On this blog, we write about community stories, local news and what goes into making the best damn comfortable cowboy boots money can buy. Y'all make it possible for our little boot shop to exist.
