Chisos Boot Company is looking for a reliable, diligent, genuinely welcoming person to join our flagship store and headquarters in Austin, Texas. We need a warm soul with a sharp eye. Someone who can make our space feel like your favorite local watering hole and keep things running smooth as mesquite whiskey.
You will work alongside Juan, our Store Manager, helping visitors find the right boots and taking care of the details that keep the shop ready. Some folks know exactly what they want. Others have never owned cowboy boots. Both should feel at home here.

What You'll Be Doing
Hospitality First
- Welcome visitors into the shop like guests of honor.
- Listen to what they need, learn our fitting process, and help them find the right boots without a hard sell.
- Learn our products well enough to answer accurately, and check rather than guess when you do not know.
- Make first-time boot buyers, longtime customers, and their companions feel comfortable and welcome.
Store Care
- Reset the shop after fittings and keep displays straight, clean, and customer-ready.
- Restock boots, check incoming merchandise, and communicate low-stock or condition issues.
- Leave clear notes and close the loop on customer requests.
Sales & POS
- Process Shopify POS purchases accurately and handle cash responsibly.
- Handle routine returns and exchanges according to policy.
- Help with occasional shipping or customer tasks when needed.
Independent Store Coverage
- Once fully trained, you may occasionally open, close, or work a normal store shift independently.
- Handle normal customer needs and store routines confidently.
Off-Site Events
- From time to time, help Chisos at pop-ups, community gatherings, brand events, and other off-site events.
- Event hours may fall outside the normal Thursday-Saturday schedule and will be arranged in advance.

- You are comfortable learning new systems and asking questions.
- Retail, hospitality, sales, or event experience helps. Boot expertise and a degree are not required. We will teach you the product and fitting process.
- You can be on your feet for long periods, kneel for fittings, climb a step ladder, and move boxes of boots.
Schedule & Pay
- Primary schedule: Thursday-Saturday, 10 AM-6 PM (about 24 hours/week).
- Saturday availability in November and December is required.
- Occasional additional HQ hours and off-site events are scheduled by agreement.
- Pay: $18/hour. Start immediately. This is an ongoing part-time role with the potential to expand to full-time in 2027.
