I ended up exchanging my No 1 for a pair of No 2 with the square toes. I have really wide feet and the No 2 worked perfectly. Probably no surprise if you have ever read any other review of Chisos, but the boots are amazing quality and incredible comfort. I mean, best boots ever in my opinion. I was living near Austin, and moved to Nashville, I am sending everyone your way for boots!
I had trouble finding the right fit for me. The folks at Chisos worked with me and patiently assisted me in arriving at my best fit. Great product.
Right out of the box they are super comfortable and no breaking in required. Can’t wait to get a second pair..
The Chisos Nº1 are the fifth pair of boots that I’ve owned and are head and shoulders above the rest. Due to their construction, they take a lot longer to break in than every other boot that I’ve owned.
In addition to being built for you and your posterity, the design incorporates an insole which puts their comfort and wearability on par with trainers. I have been plagued with back problems and really feel it after 8-10 hours in other boots. Not the case here.
The dark brown is a super unique color that I’m yet to see be matched in any boot store.
In terms of sizing, they run a little smaller than the other Austin boot maker and pretty close to Ariat - but probably not enough to size down.
Already eyeing my next pair.
The most comfortable cowboy boot that I have ever worn, I had to get a second pair.
Caution to all these boots will give the boot bug. You may think you may only want one pair then next thing you know you got 3 pairs. In all seriousness I love these boots. I wasn't really a cowboy boot guy but i decided to embrace my western heritage a bit and wanted a boot. I was not satisfied with the boots that were at your typical western store and wanted something nice and understated. Eventually I came across youtube videos about people recommending chisos boots. I bought a pair and was immediately infatuated with the design and the comfort. The price maybe a bit steep for some but compared to the other boots that I have personally came across nothing holds a candle to chisos. Will and them are great and helped me find the right fit boot no problem. Will definitely be getting another pair soon.
best boots i ever owned
These are so comfortable, they aren’t kidding. I had mine for a couple of weeks and they just get better with every wear.
..... which is why I bought another pair!
Quality great, fit great. No complaints.
These are my first ever cowboy boots. I did an enormous amount of research and determined that the value proposition of Chisos boots, particularly as a first pair, are topped by none. My first pair came in too tight, so I exchanged it easily, with no problems for a larger size. Put them on and instantly they were so comfortable. Let me tell you, the first thing you'll notice with these is the tremendous smell of leather on them. It's insane.
Extremely satisfied.

The boot that Started It All
Named like oil wells—in the order of development—all Chisos boots owe a debt of gratitude to the infamous Chisos No. 1.
Elegant embroidery showcases the sun rising over the Chisos Mountains, a tip of the hat to our namesake in Far West Texas. And that medium round toe pairs well with pressed jeans or a tux.
The classic horseman's boot, let the Chisos No. 1 anchor your collection.
Your Chisos boots will last decades with appropriate attention. The vamp (leather surrounding the foot) and leather shaft require only minimal care. Condition this leather about once every three months. Store in a cool, dry location and take a day off between heavy uses to allow the insides to properly dry.
The leather soles of your boots are designed to wear out and be replaced, much like the brakes on your pickup truck. Your mileage will vary depending on conditions of use, your weight, and your walking style. Avoid repeated exposure to water and excess moisture. When needed, a cobbler can perform a full resole and heel replacement.
To extend the life of new soles, have a cobbler apply a rubber sole saver upon receipt. No matter what, physics is going to win against leather soles and stitching. To slow the process, a cobbler can add some rubber to mitigate.
