The boot that Started It All
Named like oil wells—in the order of development—all Chisos boots owe a debt of gratitude to the infamous Chisos No. 1.
Elegant embroidery showcases the sun rising over the Chisos Mountains, a tip of the hat to our namesake in Far West Texas. And that medium round toe pairs well with pressed jeans or a tux.
The classic horseman's boot, let the Chisos No. 1 anchor your collection.
Your Chisos boots will last decades with appropriate attention. The vamp (leather surrounding the foot) and leather shaft require only minimal care. Condition this leather about once every three months. Store in a cool, dry location and take a day off between heavy uses to allow the insides to properly dry.
The leather soles of your boots are designed to wear out and be replaced, much like the brakes on your pickup truck. Your mileage will vary depending on conditions of use, your weight, and your walking style. Avoid repeated exposure to water and excess moisture. When needed, a cobbler can perform a full resole and heel replacement.
To extend the life of new soles, have a cobbler apply a rubber sole saver upon receipt. No matter what, physics is going to win against leather soles and stitching. To slow the process, a cobbler can add some rubber to mitigate.
I was hesitant to buy a more expensive pair of boots online without being able to try them on, but I pulled the trigger. The were a little snug out of the box, but these have stretched and softened into the best pair of boots I own. They look fantastic too. I wear them most days at this point. If you're on the fence, give them a shot. You won't regret it.
My first boots. Took a second to get the right size. I tried on other brands near me. Of course these actually fit how they said but different from others for me somehow. But overall amazing boots and customer service!! Would recommend to anybody
Beautiful quality. Fit great.
I think I probably should have gotten a half size larger, as my break in process was a bit rough at first. Switched for a thinner insole and over time the leather loosened up enough to switch back to the original insoles. Now they fit perfectly. Would love for them to start making wider sizes for the No. 1s.
With that being said, this are the nicest looking and feeling boots I’ve ever worn. Well worth the purchase.
No complaints, great fit, comfortable walk, and easy to drum in!
I went to all the boot stores in Austin, looking for a pair of cowboy boots that were comfortable and that had an understated design. I found them at Chisos. I chose a men’s style because it met my desired goals. They were a bit snug in the instep initially but after wearing the for a week they have loosened up and become quite comfortable.
After watching several videos on the Chisos boot and really wanting a more comfortable boot I thought I’d give them a try. Having a bad back from a motorcycle crash I thought these were made for me. I ordered the same size I wear in my other four pair of cowboy boots and the right boot was a little snug. After some break in time and few tricks it felt perfect. Unfortunately I live in the northeast with a lot of snow and salt right now so I won’t be wearing them much at this time. Once the weather breaks I see these as being my go to boots. I went with the black #1 because I didn’t own any boots in black and I thought they would pair well with my dark jeans and on the occasions I need to wear a suit. In addition to being damn comfortable they are also damn classy looking!
2nd pair of Chisos and they didn't disappoint. Roughouts were comfortable from the first time I put them on and wore all day. Well made and look great!
I bought the#1 style boot and was a little worried about the left boot being a little too tight but in just a few days it broke in and feels great just like the right one. They both feel and look great!
I highly recommend these boots to anyone looking for great quality and good looking boots. If you are like me my left foot is 1\2 size larger than the right the sales staff helped with that right in the store by providing an insert for the right boot and stretching the left a little.
I will definitely buy again if I live long enough to outlast the boots😁.
Within a few days of these arriving in the mail I was chasing my kids around our property and forgot I was wearing brand new boots, they’re that comfortable.
