The boot that Started It All
Named like oil wells—in the order of development—all Chisos boots owe a debt of gratitude to the infamous Chisos No. 1.
Elegant embroidery showcases the sun rising over the Chisos Mountains, a tip of the hat to our namesake in Far West Texas. And that medium round toe pairs well with pressed jeans or a tux.
The classic horseman's boot, let the Chisos No. 1 anchor your collection.
Your Chisos boots will last decades with appropriate attention. The vamp (leather surrounding the foot) and leather shaft require only minimal care. Condition this leather about once every three months. Store in a cool, dry location and take a day off between heavy uses to allow the insides to properly dry.
The leather soles of your boots are designed to wear out and be replaced, much like the brakes on your pickup truck. Your mileage will vary depending on conditions of use, your weight, and your walking style. Avoid repeated exposure to water and excess moisture. When needed, a cobbler can perform a full resole and heel replacement.
To extend the life of new soles, have a cobbler apply a rubber sole saver upon receipt. No matter what, physics is going to win against leather soles and stitching. To slow the process, a cobbler can add some rubber to mitigate.
I bought the#1 style boot and was a little worried about the left boot being a little too tight but in just a few days it broke in and feels great just like the right one. They both feel and look great!
I highly recommend these boots to anyone looking for great quality and good looking boots. If you are like me my left foot is 1\2 size larger than the right the sales staff helped with that right in the store by providing an insert for the right boot and stretching the left a little.
I will definitely buy again if I live long enough to outlast the boots😁.
Within a few days of these arriving in the mail I was chasing my kids around our property and forgot I was wearing brand new boots, they’re that comfortable.
I stopped by the store to get a pair of boots and happened to be able to meet Will while I was there. Will and his team helped me get a pair of Chisos No. 1 in black. I could tell they would be comfortable as soon as my foot thumped into the boot. After taking them home and breaking them in for a couple of days, it’s unreal how comfortable this boot is. They feel even better than my running shoes. I get compliments on them anytime I wear them. I’m really looking forward to getting my next pair to add to my collection.
I really have enjoyed my Chisos boots. It took a little while to break them in, but it was worth it. The customer service department is great. Chisos are more comfortable than the other higher end brands.
Chisos boots already have a great reputation for quality and excellent customer service. I would only suggest that if you take the plunge and you find it difficult to get your foot into what you thought was a properly sized boot, then remember that there's a very generous insole inside that you can remove and try something more slim. This is what happened with me, as I sized up due to a lack of EE sizes in the No. 1 (for now), I still found it very difficult to get my foot inside the boot. I was crestfallen that I would have to send them back for a larger size (which would have been too long, I think) -- then I realized that I could remove the insole and try with a slimmer one.
It worked!
Now, I have "tall feet" with a flat foot as well, which means that my experience is different than others. But if your initial worries are about it being "too small" then maybe give it a shot without the very generous insole. You can always break them in and then try with a slimmer insole.
Chisos Boots were my prestige purchase, a milestone in my exploration of western boots. I know they'll serve me well, and that they're well worth the purchase.
I was initially drawn to the art work on the No. 1s and after watching some online reviews of Chiso’s boots decided I wanted to see how comfortable they really are.
I opted for the brushed brown boots and when I tried them on for the first time I was convinced. The insole makes it feel like you are walking on a cloud. The boots are beautiful and are quality built with authentic touches like lemonwood pegs and a full leather sole and heel.
Yes Chiso’s cost a bit more than mass-produced boots but the extra cost is paying for quality. In fact, Chiso’s are built better than some of the other “premium” boot brands.
Loved mine so much I had to order a pair for my son! They were just as perfect and comfortable right out of the box! Can’t wait to order my next pair
Was a great Christmas gift
Great fit, true to size, comfy and get lots of compliments .
My second pair of Chisos. First pair were Chisos no 2 Ostrich .
These are overbuilt, awesome, and well-made boots. Worth the slight premium over competitors to not have to replace them in a matter of months.
