The No. 6 combines classic roper features with the Chisos signature comfort insole and heritage leathers to create what might be the most comfortable boot you'll ever own. And in celebration of our namesake, cording and subtle embroidery combine to form the silhouette of the Chisos Mountains around the crown.

Chisos heritage cowhides boast superior durability to juvenile leathers, and our proprietary process renders them uniquely soft. Natural variation occurs by design. Handcrafted in Mexico.

Chisos offers full refunds on like-new items within 90 days of purchase. We also provide free exchanges within the contiguous United States.

Chisos boots fit true to size according to US shoe standards. Simply order the size that you wear most often.

Generally boots will match the same size you wear in other leather footwear, or a half size smaller than your athletic shoes. If you normally waiver between two sizes, select the smaller size.

The conversion between men's and ladies' is approximately 1.5-2 size increments. For example, a Men's 7 D is a Ladies' 8.5 or 9.

Form, Meet Function

Calf ropers of the early 20th century weren't too satisfied with the tall heels of cowboy-style boots. They wanted something they could run in. And so the roper was born.

With a shorter heel, shorter shaft, and subdued silhouette, the roper is the cowboy boot's quieter cousin. Still built Chisos tough, the flatter footing of the roper is arguably a harder worker.

Personally, we rotate between 'em both.

Your Chisos boots will last decades with appropriate attention. The vamp (leather surrounding the foot) and leather shaft require only minimal care. Condition this leather about once every three months. Store in a cool, dry location and take a day off between heavy uses to allow the insides to properly dry.

The leather soles of your boots are designed to wear out and be replaced, much like the brakes on your pickup truck. Your mileage will vary depending on conditions of use, your weight, and your walking style. Avoid repeated exposure to water and excess moisture. When needed, a cobbler can perform a full resole and heel replacement.

To extend the life of new soles, have a cobbler apply a rubber sole saver upon receipt. No matter what, physics is going to win against leather soles and stitching. To slow the process, a cobbler can add some rubber to mitigate.

Roper #6

Have you ever wondered what it was like to wear a baseball glove? Well wonder no more, the Roper #6‘’S shape to you feet and the break in period has been better then most athletic shoes. Furthermore this boot satisfied any and every occasion. I could not be more pleased with my purchase and I am excited to watch this company grow.

First Pair of Chisos - No.6 Magic Black

These are for sure worth every penny. I am normally a 9.5-10 EE but since these only come in D width i did have to go with an 11 D to compensate for the width. Nonetheless these are just amazing. I encourage everyone who wants to try a pair to buy a pair because you won’t be let down.

My feet are different sizes but both Chisos fit well due to the focus on quality and craftsmanship of the dedicated Chisos team. Thanks!

First pair of Chisos, not my last

Original wanted Brush Brown No. 2, they were sold out. I purchased these rompers thinking id wear them with my suits and buy No. 2 later. I tried them on at home, on a soft surface, everyday, for 15 days. I tried them on with different jeans and looked at them, then put them back in the box. I was unsure if they were the right size, unsure if I actually liked them. I kept giving myself reasons of why I should send them back and purchase Brushed brown no. 2 instead. I was torn. A pair Chisos boots come with a serious price tag and I wanted to feel confident in my purchase, also I just really wanted a pair of No. 2. Today I threw away the packaging box. I'm keeping them. I'll just work a little harder and save up for some No. 2(they're out of stock at the moment anyway). Yeah these boots are great, I wore them out today(attached picture). First stop was lunch, I wore a black leather jacket(white crewneck sweater underneath) and my black Texana. Confidence was high, I was looking fresh AF. Second stop was the mall I walked through there and made eye contact with all the beauties. I now have a date next week with the cutie from Sunglass Hut. Maybe the boots had something to do with idk, try them for yourself. I Just need a matching belt now(: Thank you! Will purchase another pair, will refer to a friend.

Ps. Purchased 8.5, true to size. Hugs my heel, comfortable at the forefoot. Smell good.

Best boots ever!

These were a gift for my husband who has been wanting them for a while. After finally receiving a pair, here's what he has to say: "These are the comfiest shoes I've ever worn! They fit true to size, insoles are thick and fit perfectly, especially for my heels after standing all day for work. They are made with top quality leather and look great too. A few things to note: It took about one week to break in comfortably. Also, the red dye on the inside tends to rub off onto socks, but this is not an issue at all. I tell everyone about these boots and will definitely be getting another pair of Chisos when I get the chance!"

Boots made with the best of old world craftsmanship, new age technology and absolute intentiality.

I own boots from several Texas boot makers, and like many of them. But none of them compare to the intentionality that went into making the Chisos Boots these boots have thick, mature leather, Goodyear welts, leather toe boxes and counters and room for a technologically advanced insole. Will Roman set out to make a boot that would last and transcend the boot wearing experience – he succeeded. Damn comfortable boots! I can’t recommend these boots strongly enough.

Love em!

Love everything about these boots. The back story of the company, the people running the company and making the boots, the way the company treats the people it's working with, the use of retired dairy cattle leather, and the donation towards wilderness areas from each sale.

These will be hands down, the most comfortable boot you put on. They're a thing of beauty. The stitching is a fantastic rendition of the mountain range that give the company its name. The packaging is as good as you'll get - especially at this price point. The hand written letter included in each of the sales is a wonderful touch. But most importantly, these are really well made, damn good looking and wonderful boots.

Great customer service

Ordered No6 couple weeks ago. Had to send back for exchange two times for the best fit. Allison was kind enough to help me out. The boots are also in perfect condition.

Awesome Boots.

So far the break in with these boots were a cake walk, even though I have worn these to work (landscaping/construction) several times and people are still asking me “new boots?” with a smile. I’m excited to see how these wear and age over the years. Having a leather sole is definitely new territory for me, but I like the ground feel and the sleek look that it gives while still giving the work wear capability. The quality is all there with the stitching and the leather itself, definitely going to get another pair at some point in the future. That ostrich king roper is in my crosshairs or No. 1 in brown. They fit a little snug, that new boot kinda snug that shapes and makes for a perfect glove-like fit when broken in. I wear a 10 D in white’s smoke jumpers (lace to-toe/ plain toe) and 10.5 to 11 in sneaker’s, I always have issues because I like my slip on boots to have enough room for regular middle weight socks without making the boot uncomfortable and these definitely check that box for me. All in all amazing boots that you will find any excuse to wear them all the time.
