The boot that Started It All
Named like oil wells—in the order of development—all Chisos boots owe a debt of gratitude to the infamous Chisos No. 1.
Elegant embroidery showcases the sun rising over the Chisos Mountains, a tip of the hat to our namesake in Far West Texas. And that medium round toe pairs well with pressed jeans or a tux.
The classic horseman's boot, let the Chisos No. 1 anchor your collection.
Your Chisos boots will last decades with appropriate attention. The vamp (leather surrounding the foot) and leather shaft require only minimal care. Condition this leather about once every three months. Store in a cool, dry location and take a day off between heavy uses to allow the insides to properly dry.
The leather soles of your boots are designed to wear out and be replaced, much like the brakes on your pickup truck. Your mileage will vary depending on conditions of use, your weight, and your walking style. Avoid repeated exposure to water and excess moisture. When needed, a cobbler can perform a full resole and heel replacement.
To extend the life of new soles, have a cobbler apply a rubber sole saver upon receipt. No matter what, physics is going to win against leather soles and stitching. To slow the process, a cobbler can add some rubber to mitigate.
Boot shipped super fast, they are extremely comfortable and worth the hype. My Chisos are more comfortable than my ostrich Tecovas.
I hate to do this, I really do, but I feel I have no choice. First off let me say I really love what this company stands for. American made, retired dairy cow leather, provide a product that will last, takes care of the customer. All things that are very important to me. The boots were also very comfortable with a fairly easy break in, they just kept getting better and better. They are a very beautiful boot and have a nice high quality feel. But…after a week with my first pair the heel started to feel very sloppy. I took a look and the stitching on the heel counter was breaking/ coming undone. I sent them an email and they treated me very well and sent a new pair right away, no questions asked. Now the second pair…they also felt great and I was very happy. But after 4-5 months of light use, the outsole on the right boot is starting to come off. The stitching that holds the outsole on is completely broken on the big toe side. The first couple of weeks I wore them often, trying to break them in for our wedding. But after that I wore them twice a week at most, sometimes going a couple weeks without wearing them at all. I did not work in them whatsoever. Only “out on the town” type of use, nothing more than walking around for a few hours. I would really love to give these boots a 5 star review, but I cannot be satisfied paying 550 dollars for product that has failed me very prematurely. Not just once but twice. Hopefully I just got the short end of the stick but, because of what this company stands for I probably would recommend this product.
These boot fit and feel amazing but that’s not the only reason I love these boots.
On the outside Chisos does some really cool things.
Makes a high quality beautiful boot in North America, supports public land, innovates with dairy cows leather and a great insole. These are all things that peaked my interest in the brand and was enough for me to pull the trigger.
Once the boots arrived (faster than I expected) you open the box you don’t just get boots, you get Chisos stickers, a Chisos coozy, each boot is wrapped in a cloth sack, but the hand written note addressed to me welcoming me to the family and thanking me for the support was just great!
Top that off with the fact that Will Roman (owner) comments on my post bragging about my new boots on Reddit and you start to really feel like you didn’t just buy a boot but you become apart of a community!
Great product, great people, great investment!
Been wearing cowboy boots a while out in West Texas. Always been one to like the fit of Lucchese. These boots were very snug around instep at first, but loosened up. What I don't like it how loose the heel feels. Tried multiple sock and insole combos to no avail. Boots also feel like they go on and come off too easy, which is not like my typical boots. Boots seem very well made, but may just not work with me.
Great quality and fit.
This is my first pair of cowboy boots as an adult, and I could not be happier! They are so comfortable and beautifully made. More importantly though, when I put on these boots I wear confidence; I love the way they make me feel. Thank you so much for this amazing addition to my life!
My son loves his new boots. Third pair he's got. Made well.
This may sound ridiculous, and a bit overwrought, but these boots have changed my life. I finally have the confidence and pride I’ve been missing. I’m 40 and I finally feel like a grown man. I’ve struggled financially over the years and I never thought I would ever own anything this nice. It’s hard to overstate how rare it is to actually be happy and satisfied, and I am those things and more. Thanks for being there.
These are some bomb a$$ boots. They feel and look great. Way tougher than I'll treat them. A little snug across the arch but breaking in well. I foresee a lot of miles ahead. Brown smooth leather will be my next footwear purchase.
Great job guys.
Now make some #5s in brown.
