The boot that Started It All
Named like oil wells—in the order of development—all Chisos boots owe a debt of gratitude to the infamous Chisos No. 1.
Elegant embroidery showcases the sun rising over the Chisos Mountains, a tip of the hat to our namesake in Far West Texas. And that medium round toe pairs well with pressed jeans or a tux.
The classic horseman's boot, let the Chisos No. 1 anchor your collection.
Your Chisos boots will last decades with appropriate attention. The vamp (leather surrounding the foot) and leather shaft require only minimal care. Condition this leather about once every three months. Store in a cool, dry location and take a day off between heavy uses to allow the insides to properly dry.
The leather soles of your boots are designed to wear out and be replaced, much like the brakes on your pickup truck. Your mileage will vary depending on conditions of use, your weight, and your walking style. Avoid repeated exposure to water and excess moisture. When needed, a cobbler can perform a full resole and heel replacement.
To extend the life of new soles, have a cobbler apply a rubber sole saver upon receipt. No matter what, physics is going to win against leather soles and stitching. To slow the process, a cobbler can add some rubber to mitigate.
Great fitting, comfortable, and quality built. My 3rd pair, and customer for life
Been wearing my Chisos way more than I expected I would. I'm able to sneak them into the office even though our dress code is on the stricter side (they just look that clean under slacks).
I took the sizing advice and went half a size down from what I normally wear which had me struggling a little bit with them being too narrowt. But, I grabbed a boot stretcher on Amazon and after one session they widened enough to become incredibly comfortable. Not quite on the level of my Red Wings yet but I've had those for about 10 years so it's not exactly a fair comparison.
Overall a 10/10 purchase and would buy again but would pick up a stretcher along side them from day one if you've got slightly wider feet--it just makes life easier. The size down advice is spot on because I think they'd be sliding too much otherwise.
Undecided. Have tried numerous insoles and still get sore feet. Bottoms seem to be wearing quickly.
Great construction, wonderful finish and very comfortable.
Fantastic fit. Excellent construction. Several compliments from strangers (I do keep them looking nice). Thank you!
I would have to say that these boots are by far the best quality boots I have ever owned. The comfort is by far superior to anything I have bought and tried in the past 10 out of 10 every day wear boots. These won’t be my last pair I’m looking at the ostrich boots next thanks
Beautiful boots. Extremely comfortable. Sizing true to brannock for me. I get compliments on them all the time.
I waited almost a year before I came in and purchased the No. 1's. I did my homework, researched Chisos, and watched I don't know how many YouTube reviews. All I can say is I wasn't disappointed and I don't know why I waited so long. Boots fit a like a glove, very comfortable, and breaking in very quickly. Great boots and extra credit for the in-store experience, and the cool cap. Thanks Chisos!
Ordering cowboy boots online from 6000 miles away without seeing or trying them on is always a project.
I determined my shoe size based on my foot length. (chisos´s size chart)
I don't have a wide forefoot or a high instep. Here in Europe, I wear a size 42.5, which corresponds to a US size 9.5 for me.
The boots are very narrow and need to be broken in. It feels just like wearing custom-made shoes.
I've been wearing the boots for two days now. I don't have any blisters or pressure points, but they will stretch and then they will fit perfectly.
The shoes are very well made. One minor drawback is the slightly protruding seam on the sole in some places.
All in all, a five-star performance for me, thank you to Chisos for the outstanding performance!

Missed my chance to pick up a pair when I was in Austin in February, but ordered a pair of No. 1s when I got back home. Seamless and fast shipping to Toronto, Canada. Comfortable, true to size, quality pair of boots. Love the details and craft of these boots. Thank you Chisos!
