Cowhide
11" Shaft
1⅝" Heel

The boot that started it all. The No. 1 is crafted from Chisos heritage cowhide, available in either our speckled magic black, gorgeous brushed brown, or roughout. The artwork shows the sun and stars over the Chisos Mountains in Big Bend National Park and our signature red heel stripe completes the piece.

Chisos heritage cowhides boast superior durability to juvenile leathers, and our proprietary process renders them uniquely soft. Natural variation occurs by design. Handcrafted in Mexico.

Chisos offers full refunds on like-new items within 90 days of purchase. We also provide free exchanges within the contiguous United States.

Your Chisos boots will last decades with appropriate attention. The vamp (leather surrounding the foot) and leather shaft require only minimal care. Condition this leather about once every three months. Store in a cool, dry location and take a day off between heavy uses to allow the insides to properly dry.

The leather soles of your boots are designed to wear out and be replaced, much like the brakes on a vehicle. Your mileage will vary depending on conditions of use, your weight, and walking style. Avoid repeated exposure to water and excess moisture.

To extend the life of new soles, have a cobbler apply a rubber sole saver upon receipt. When needed, a cobbler can perform a full resole and heel replacement.

Chisos boots fit true to size according to US shoe standards. Simply order the size that you wear most often.

Generally boots will match the same size you wear in other leather footwear, or a half size smaller than your athletic shoes. If you normally waiver between two sizes, select the smaller size.

The conversion between men's and ladies' is approximately 1.5-2 size increments. For example, a Men's 7 D is a Ladies' 8.5 or 9.

Very pleased!

I purchased the No. 1 in brown and was so pleased I bought a 2nd pair - the No. 1 in black ostrich. The same is true for both - high quality, great looks and the best fit ever. I've been around for a while :) and owned a lot of boots. Highly recommend.

The Chisos No. 1 are the best boots I've ever owned.

They're beautiful and fit perfectly. The details and construction quality are superb, and they are the most comfortable boots I've ever worn. I've received many compliments. I have some "big name" boots, but my Chisos No. 1's are the best.

First Chisos

After seeing an Anvil Rose video was prompted to give Chisos a try. Very pleased with looks, fit, & construction of the #1 , already ordered a #5!

Best boots I’ve ever had

These are hands down the best quality/constructed boots! I got a pair from a competitor for Xmas and wore a hole in both soles within 7 months. They told me to kick rocks on the repairs. I saw the boot cut in half video on YouTube and was sold. Ordered these right away. Every single detail on these is 100 times better than my other pairs. I’m sure I will be getting another color in the near future.

Best boots

They feel great inside and out. Awesome leather liner inside with the best insole feels very springy. They were comfortable out the box with little break in time (1-2 weeks), helped with Bick 4 conditioner on the outside and Obenauf’s oil on the inside of the boot. Would be great to see different leather offered like bullhide/Bull shoulder, goat, etc, different heel shapes/heights and taller+narrower shafts.

Instant Romance

Hello my name is David , I’m from Monterrey, México. I received my chisos No1 and as soon as I opened the box I was immediately surrounded by an extremely nice leather aroma that filled the entire room , and they continue to do it and man you can’t beat that smell . They are so comfortable and the leather looks tough and resistant, one thing that I really really love is that it’s incredibly easy to put them on and off , you don’t have to struggle and hurting your back .

The red lining gives an elegance touch . I already ordered a pair of No 2’s, because they’re awesome . Good job guys , keep the good work, hope to see you soon in Austin .

Possibly the most comfortable boot i own. Ive put more than 12000 steps a day on these on more than one occasion with no issues . What else can i say.

Money well spent

I don’t consider myself an expert on all things footwear. But I do know after half a century of wearing boots, these are the finest made and most comfortable books I’ve ever worn. So in case you’re on the fence about buying a pair of these great boots, like the title say, it’s money well spent…

First, but not the last!

The Chisos No. 1 are the finest quality boots you will find that rival some much higher priced brands. The leather is soft and breaks in very nicely in a short timeframe. Within a week my No.1s were fitting like a glove. The shades and contrasts in the Brushed Brown is amazing. Matched with the beautiful artwork on the shaft it is an incredible boot to look at. I already bought some No. 6s which are equally as great and No. 2s are on my short list...
