Cowhide
11" Shaft
1⅝" Heel

The No. 1 is crafted from Chisos heritage cowhide, available in either our speckled magic black, gorgeous brushed brown, or roughout. The artwork shows the sun and stars over the Chisos Mountains in Big Bend National Park and our signature red heel stripe completes the piece.

Chisos heritage cowhides boast superior durability to juvenile leathers, and our proprietary process renders them uniquely soft. Natural variation occurs by design. Handcrafted in Mexico.

Chisos provides free shipping on exchanges within the contiguous United States within 90 days of purchase. Product costs are refundable within 30 days of purchase.

For all returns, items must be in like-new condition without scratches nor scuffs. We recommend trying on your boots on carpet to ensure proper fit.

Chisos boots fit true to size according to US shoe standards. Simply order the size that you wear most often.

Generally boots will match the same size you wear in other leather footwear, or a half size smaller than your athletic shoes. If you normally waiver between two sizes, select the smaller size.

The conversion between men's and ladies' is approximately 1.5-2 size increments. For example, a Men's 7 D is a Ladies' 8.5 or 9.

The leather soles of your boots are designed to wear out and be replaced, much like the brakes on your pickup truck. Your mileage will vary depending on conditions of use, your weight, and your walking style. Avoid repeated exposure to water and excess moisture.

When needed, a cobbler can perform a full resole and heel replacement.

Most Comfortable Boot

I bought a pair of Chisos #1 in roughout and since day 1 they have been the most comfortable shoes I own. I use orthotics and they work great with them. Might have to get a few more pairs!

Gorgeous boots!

I love these boots. They're super comfortable and the stitching of the Chisos Mountains is beautiful. I'll keep these for life!

Chisos #1 Brushed Brown!!

These are the most comfortable cowboy boots I’ve ever purchased. I have three other brands. Chisos is hands down the best. The sun and stars stitching is AWESOME! Very easy to break in. I get compliments all the time on my Chisos!

Very Excited to Own my Chisos #1, but...

I was really excited when I first got my Chisos #1. Put them on immediately and they felt great. I had looked them over and was amazed at their construction. I was really impressed with the brushed brown color, it was just perfect. Then as I was walking in them, I noticed the left boot was killing the top of my foot. Unfortunately, I had worn them on concrete which scuffed the soles. Now I'm struggling to pre-sale them for a decent price so I can buy a larger pair. Maybe someday!

Really nice boots!

I like these Number ones very much. I love the brushed brown. It has taken a couple weeks to break in fairly comfortably, but the fit is nice. These are the best built boots I have seen by far. Don't change and cheapen the way you make them. Ever. I highly recommend these boots. I have five other pairs of boots, different brands, and I like them too, but they really don't compare to the fine quality of Chisos. I have two pair of Chisos now and I'm sure there will be more in the future.

Great service - Awesome boots

So I waited a good while before posting a review, because you can't really tell the whole story on day one.

When I received my boots (black No.1s), I was impressed by the materials and finish. They felt solid and premium. The boots were a little too snug maybe (fine with thinner socks), but I thought they would stretch with the break-in process. And they did, but unfortunately only after a few hours wear (mostly indoor to begin with), the thread in the wrinkle on one of my boots began to come loose and unravel. This was obviously disappointing given the cost and supposed craftsmanship. Nonetheless, stuff happens!

So I contacted Chisos and they were great at making it right (thanks again!). I eventually got a replacement pair and they fit even better, with a little more room. Curiously, the same size but seemingly with a few extra mm.

I look forward to breaking these in nicely and wearing them whenever I can. Maybe if I’m ever down that way in person, I’ll pick up another pair.

Made it to the 2024 Texas State Fair

I bought and wore your No.1 boots to the Texas state fair from very early in the morning to late dinner time. They were excellent looking and feeling, no complaints at all, In fact a couple of compliments! Thank you very much.

Great if you let them be…

I’ve worn a zillion different boots in my life. I ordered these based on Chisos’ sizing suggestion and wore them on carpet for a week before giving up and returning them for a half size larger. These broke in much quicker, but were still a bear compared to mass produced boots. I wear them as much as I can and put them to bed with baseballs in them. Now…great. I really love them and can’t wait to get a pair in black. I plan on ordering No1’s again since I love the toe shape so much. The fit and finish are second to none. You can tell they are handcrafted with a lot of care. Be patient with the fit and break in and you will be rewarded with an amazing pair of boots.

The boot that Started It All

Named like oil wells—in the order of development—all Chisos boots owe a debt of gratitude to the infamous Chisos No. 1.

Elegant embroidery showcases the sun rising over the Chisos Mountains, a tip of the hat to our namesake in Far West Texas. And that medium round toe pairs well with pressed jeans or a tux.

The classic horseman's boot, let the Chisos No. 1 anchor your collection.

Your Chisos boots will last decades with appropriate attention. The vamp (leather surrounding the foot) and leather shaft require only minimal care. Condition this leather about once every three months. Store in a cool, dry location and take a day off between heavy uses to allow the insides to properly dry.

To extend the life of new soles, have a cobbler apply a rubber sole saver upon receipt. No matter what, physics is going to win against leather soles and stitching. To slow the process, a cobbler can add some rubber to mitigate.
