Cowhide
11" Shaft
1⅝" Heel

The No. 1 is crafted from Chisos heritage cowhide, available in either our speckled magic black, gorgeous brushed brown, or roughout. The artwork shows the sun and stars over the Chisos Mountains in Big Bend National Park and our signature red heel stripe completes the piece.

Chisos heritage cowhides boast superior durability to juvenile leathers, and our proprietary process renders them uniquely soft. Natural variation occurs by design. Handcrafted in Mexico.

Chisos offers full refunds on like-new items within 90 days of purchase. We also provide free exchanges within the contiguous United States.

Chisos boots fit true to size according to US shoe standards. Simply order the size that you wear most often.

Generally boots will match the same size you wear in other leather footwear, or a half size smaller than your athletic shoes. If you normally waiver between two sizes, select the smaller size.

The conversion between men's and ladies' is approximately 1.5-2 size increments. For example, a Men's 7 D is a Ladies' 8.5 or 9.

The boot that Started It All

Named like oil wells—in the order of development—all Chisos boots owe a debt of gratitude to the infamous Chisos No. 1.

Elegant embroidery showcases the sun rising over the Chisos Mountains, a tip of the hat to our namesake in Far West Texas. And that medium round toe pairs well with pressed jeans or a tux.

The classic horseman's boot, let the Chisos No. 1 anchor your collection.

Your Chisos boots will last decades with appropriate attention. The vamp (leather surrounding the foot) and leather shaft require only minimal care. Condition this leather about once every three months. Store in a cool, dry location and take a day off between heavy uses to allow the insides to properly dry.

The leather soles of your boots are designed to wear out and be replaced, much like the brakes on your pickup truck. Your mileage will vary depending on conditions of use, your weight, and your walking style. Avoid repeated exposure to water and excess moisture. When needed, a cobbler can perform a full resole and heel replacement.

To extend the life of new soles, have a cobbler apply a rubber sole saver upon receipt. No matter what, physics is going to win against leather soles and stitching. To slow the process, a cobbler can add some rubber to mitigate.

Trying to find ways to love them like all the other reviewers

I saw a lot of youtube videos and reviews about these boots and decided it's worth spending the extra money since everyone was raving about these boots: You would think they are so amazing based on the reviews and the price tag? Well, you would be wrong.

1st off the boots were smaller, I went a 1/2 size bigger and still found it incredibly hard to simply get into them! The pain it caused was indescribable, Please don't take my word for it, try it and you will find yourself in the same situation I found myself in.

I do believe the Soul would provide a lot of comfort over other brands, but whatever last they use is just not made right! Im no boot expert, but going up a 1/2 size should fix the size issues and for some magical reason, it does not.

My only option is to try a full size up at this point and give it one last go. I worry if all the reviews and IG comments are from true people, Unless im loosing my mind, it cant be real.

I own a pair of Tecovas, they were much cheaper and had attention to detail. The boots that I received were new and not creased, these were 2 times. And over all Tecovas were a thing of beauty. Now there are not comfortable for long day use lacking a insole.

Im going to try one more time to get this resolved, if that fails, this review stays.

killer traditional boot

I've had my Chisos #1 boots for a few days now and have breakin started in earnest. Altogether these are a really tastefully done traditional boot; I wish more online-first boot companies took this approach instead of making boot shaped sneakers.

I needed a size exchange and that process went smoothly, no issue at all. Leather soles scuff very easily so definitely take their advice and use a rug.

Overall, my main concern is that the last is quite narrow and low-volume, combined with a high-volume insole. This insole is a big part of the Chisos comfort identity, but I ended up needing to swap it for a flat leather insole at my local cobbler to get the right volume for my foot. Maybe when Chisos offers the #1 in EE like the #2, I won't need to make that kind of compromise. Fortunately, I don't mind a stiff sole.

I look forward to putting a lot of miles on these, on foot and in the saddle.

Return your Tecovas. Buy These.

Are they expensive? Yes, but are they worth it? Absolutely.

For a slightly higher price, you get a boot that is exceptionally well-crafted, immediately comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing.

I recently delved into the world of cowboy boots and purchased these mainly based on recommendations from YouTubers and redditors. Concurrently, I also bought some Tecovas boots at half the cost and was initially leaning towards keeping those. However, the moment my Chisos boots arrived, my decision was instantly clear.

Boots that will last!

When I first considered buying Chisos, Was torn on No2 or No1. I hesitated and my size was out of stock in both. When available I went with the No 1s. I guess I am more of a traditionalist (older) . Boots were a little tight at first and wore around house a couple hours a day for about 3 days. Now I can wear all day and feel great! I have a few different boots , some more expensive but these are by far the best made boots I have ever owned. Sure they will be around for a long time. Will get a pair in black in future. Thanks and keep up the good work!

Glad I gave them a try.

I ordered the No. 1’s in Brushed Brown, and they are beautiful. I like the look of a simplistic boot, so no crazy colors or designs; but these have just enough flair to not be boring and yet are not overwhelming.
I originally ordered a 10D, but they were too tight; so after chatting with CS and input from the owner himself, I went half a size up and they feel great now. Chisos are pretty spendy, but I wanted a rock solid boot, and after wearing them for a little while now, I expect them to last a lifetime.

Honored from the uk

I genuinely feel honored to be able to own a pair of these boots, they're built beautifully rugged and feel like they can take on the world. I've never owned anything like them. As for chisos the company, they made me feel incredibly special with a hand written note. Absolutely special company!!!
Thank you for the amazing boots.

Chisos Number 1 are great

I researched while before investing in another pair of boots. I tried Rujos as well as Ariat's Bench Made boots. While the Rujos and Ariats were good boots, my Chisos were great. The No. 1s had better build quality and were more comfortable than the others. I bought these in Magic Black and am planning on visiting to check out the No. 2s in Brushed Brown. Great Product.

Fantastic Boots!

I'm a huge fan of these boots! They are extremely well-made and have an eye-catching look. After the breaking-in period, they became the comfortable boots that I've ever worn.
