Cowhide
11" Shaft
1⅝" Heel

The No. 5 pays tribute to the Texas Longhorn and those great herds that defined the old west. Horns that reach the entire width of the boot dominate the embroidery. Both our magic black and roughout leathers provide full grain strength to back up the loud snip toe.

The tan version ain't suede—our roughout is made by turning a full grain hide inside-out. It's our strongest and most comfortable cowhide leather.

Chisos heritage cowhides boast superior durability to juvenile leathers, and our proprietary process renders them uniquely soft. Natural variation occurs by design. Handcrafted in Mexico.

Chisos provides free shipping on exchanges within the contiguous United States within 90 days of purchase. Product costs are refundable within 30 days of purchase.

For all returns, items must be in like-new condition without scratches nor scuffs. We recommend trying on your boots on carpet to ensure proper fit.

Chisos boots fit true to size according to US shoe standards. Simply order the size that you wear most often.

Generally boots will match the same size you wear in other leather footwear, or a half size smaller than your athletic shoes. If you normally waiver between two sizes, select the smaller size.

The conversion between men's and ladies' is approximately 1.5-2 size increments. For example, a Men's 7 D is a Ladies' 8.5 or 9.

The leather soles of your boots are designed to wear out and be replaced, much like the brakes on your pickup truck. Your mileage will vary depending on conditions of use, your weight, and your walking style. Avoid repeated exposure to water and excess moisture.

When needed, a cobbler can perform a full resole and heel replacement.

A Little Rock 'n Roll

Some call it dressy, some say it's easygoing. But nobody can deny that the snip toe of the Chisos No. 5 makes an impression.

Combined with the steer head embroidery, the No. 5 goes where it wants. Get it dirty and don't worry about maintenance—the patina adds to the allure.

Your Chisos boots will last decades with appropriate attention. The vamp (leather surrounding the foot) and leather shaft require only minimal care. Condition this leather about once every three months. Store in a cool, dry location and take a day off between heavy uses to allow the insides to properly dry.

To extend the life of new soles, have a cobbler apply a rubber sole saver upon receipt. No matter what, physics is going to win against leather soles and stitching. To slow the process, a cobbler can add some rubber to mitigate.

Maybe the best boots I’ve ever owned

I’ve been wearing boots for 51 years and these are as quality as any pair I’ve ever had. The attention to detail is incredible, and the customer service has been touch notch. I can’t recommend Chisos boots highly enough, they are just fantastic.

Simply Amazing!!!

After intensive research for my next western boot, I landed on Chisos. And boy, did it not disappoint! Aside from all the qualities in the craftmanship, and the various video reviews, there is this unique feeling in owning a pair of Chisos.

For those that value curated items, this is a must have. Not only is the style and design timeless, but the comfort is exceptional. There was no holding back in the creation and development of these boots. Time and time, I find myself grabbing the No.5 rough outs as my go-to footwear - whether it be work or play. I know that this will be a heritage boot and it's no surprise that Chisos owners turn into product evangelists.

For those that are on the fence about investing in these boots, I strongly suggest watching all the available video reviews to get a quantitative view. One can also read about qualitative insights online and in social media. Then pick your pair and enjoy! By the way, customer service is also exceptional!

I'm eagerly anticipating new inventory so I can invest in the other styles. This will be the only brand of western boots I'll be buying from now on.

Amazing boots!!!

They are ridiculously comfortable!! Somehow didn’t need to break in unlike my no1, shape must be a bit different I guess. They are so good looking on top of it. Just buy them

Clear winner vs. Tecovas

These boots are a little more expensive than my Tecovas, but they look better, are made of higher quality materials, are constructed better, and are more comfortable. Five stars. I’ve got two more pairs of Chisos on my birthday wish list.

Top tier boots

The Chisos No. 5 is my 3rd pair of Chisos boots, along with two pairs of the No. 1s. I'm fortunate to have many boots in rotation ranging from beefy PNW boots from Nicks to exotics from Lucchese. But I always come back to my Chisos to slip on for day to day use.

Dressy enough for the office, comfortable enough to walk miles, and robust enough to stomp around the dance floor, I can't express how versatile my Chisos have been. I used to draw a hard line on no foam/rubber insoles for my boots (and I still believe that once broken in, nothing beats a leather insole perfectly molded to your feet), but I can't deny that the Chisos insoles make the boot incredibly comfortable out of the box. You also still get that molded leather feel after wearing them in since there's a thin leather layer on top of their rubber insole.

Build quality is also up there among all my boots, with thick leather, tight stitching, and solid construction. I'd recommend folks check out Rose Anvil's videos on YouTube showing a pair of Chisos cut in half. Compared to the cross section of other brands, the Chisos use real slabs of leather in their construction with minimal synthetic material, and you can really tell the difference in quality if you've spent time around real leather boots.

I will note that, similar to other reviews, I did get some of the red leather dye leach onto my socks, especially if I'm sweating in these boots. Good thing the vast majority of my socks are black so it's been a non-issue.

I love the Chisos packaging and attention to detail. The boots come with a pair of cotton drawstring boot bags, which I typically purchase separately to keep dust off my boots when they're off rotation so that's a great addition.

I also received a handwritten thank you card. The third card for my No. 5s referenced my previous boots, which is a small but nice detail that makes you feel like you're really supporting a small company instead of some massive corporate entity.

I could be wrong, but I don't believe Chisos offers a resole/recraft service. They should! I know there are many capable cobblers and excellent leather outsoles (JR oak tanned leather is king to me), but I like to send boots back to the original manufacturer for work when I can.

All in all, my Chisos have all been great and I look forward to getting many more years (and miles) out of em.

Unfortunate

I first bought these at a size 8 and had too much heel slip. So I exchanged to a 7.5, they were a bit tight, but I was sure after breaking them in they would feel just right, now they’re very painful each time I wear the pair. I used to be in the Army so I am used to minor discomfort when it comes to new boots, but I’ve never experienced pain like this before. Unfortunately because I’ve worn them outside I’m stuck with the wrong size.

New Favorite Boots

These cowboy boots are the most comfortable I have ever owned.
The blonde rough out leather is beautiful and supple. There is no doubt these boots are from Texas wherever I wear them.

1 year review. Worse quality than tecovas at twice the price.

Howdy, y'all, I hate to write this review but it is the truth and I hold that to the utmost standard. My chisos No. 5 have been a disaster since the beginning. I bought them as a special birthday gift to myself as a boot enthusiast for over 5 years and was bitterly disappointed. I wore the first pair that I got everywhere. For only a couple of weeks, two, until the outsole started to come apart from the welt completely. Not only that, but I also had stitching from a pull strap come completely undone. All this within a couple of weeks on an almost 600 dollar pair of boots!!!! I emailed chisos this and they sent me a new pair. This was awesome! Their customer support beat my expectations. They offered to send me a new pair of boots! Behold... the second pair of Chisos faired much worse. Through less wear, the soles have come completely apart from the welt. It is worse on the old pair than on the new pair! Although this review may be late, it is a genuine, unfiltered, experience of owning a 600 dollar (more these days with tax) pair of chisos boots. For anyone planning on wearing their chisos hard and as they're meant, please memorize the chisos customer support email and phone line. Thank you- Seamus Dewane, Boot enthusiast. (below are pictures of both boot failures in chronological order.)

Not as good as I had hoped

The insole pushed your foot forward in the toe of the boot and this does not fit like a normal cowboy boot unfortunately
