These boots are badass and most comfy.
Chisos Roper boots are a great fit and feel for me. I have both the No. 6 Roper and King Roper.
I'm a diehard Lucchese fan and until a friend of mine called me and said two things; 1 - have you heard of Chisos!? these are the most comfortable boots on the planet, and 2 - DON'T ORDER ONLINE! Come into the shop and have a whiskey to pick out your boots. Boom, I was sold.
Unfortunately, the demand on the King Roper's were so high that I ordered online immediately but I plan on having that whiskey and adding to my Chisos collection. I've hardly taken these boots off since purchase and received a tons of comments.
Lucchese fans... Chisos will rock your world.
Awesome boots! Not only are they beautiful boots, but they are the most comfortable boots Ive ever had.
I've been wearing the Ropers for three or four weeks now. Just like my #2's, the roper is unbelievably comfortable to wear. Will, you've done it again!!!
What a great looking pair of boots! I had been holding off on this review hoping to come up with words of praise not already given for these boots. I got nothing. They are everything you would expect from Chisos. Top notch quality, soft and supple, the color is rich and creamy. Snug out of the box, and feel great after only 3 days of wearing them. Impulse purchase perhaps? Absolutely no regrets though. Have the #5's as well. Probably not my last pair of Chisos.
I've been waiting for Chisos to come out with a roper boot ever since I bought my first pair (No 2... Love them). Got my ropers today and tried them on. Perfect fit and comfortable right out of the box!
For 8 years, my regular boot was a pair of Lucchese Classic Ropers, L3515, purchased from Allens Boots on South Congress. Those boots were, and are, soft, supple and quite comfortable. Enough so that I’d wear them often, and sometimes daily, for weeks or months at a time. So that’s my baseline.
The King Ropers are at least as comfortable, though will probably be less supple than other ostrich boots you might have tried. Will told me this is because he used a thicker leather to keep the boots from getting “floppy” as they break in.
If you know the Chisos fit, you’ll know generally how these boots fit, but the traditional roper heel gives a different feel. And the shaft is is narrower than my other Lucchese and Chisos boots. I can still get these boots on and off with ease, maybe not quite as easily, though, as my others. And this does mean the King Ropers can be worn with more narrow legged pants.
And of course, these boots have that Chisos quality you’ve come to expect.
I really like the look and feel of these boots, and will enjoy wearing them for years.
My husband purchased a pair of your boots and loves them. So I decided to get him the king ropers as a surprise birthday gift. He was so surprised and happy. They are even prettier in person. And as always, packaged very well. He loves the boots. So glad I got them for him. He said they’re super comfortable! Don’t hesitate to buy from this company!
I have a half dozen pair of boots, but these are different. The shaft of the boot fits much closer to my leg (shin/calf) which allows me to wear them with dress pants that I ordinarily wouldn’t be able to wear boots with, I.e. something other than boot cut. See picture below for comparison to my Lucchesse boots. They’re very comfortable (the most comfortable boot I have) and appear very well made.
