Chisos No. 2

The build quality of this bot surpassed my expectations. As the bot continues to break in, it is getting more and more enjoyable to wear.
This was a solid purchase and I am sure I will return in the future for additional boots.

In the 35 years that I’ve worn boots, I’ve had a variety of pairs from the usual sources most recognize as being the makers of “good boots.” Well, these are by far the best made and most comfortable to date, though they took a little more to break them in that I’m used to, and I’m already thinking of a second pair. I recommend them.

I think they are great boots. The only thing is you don't have extra wide round toe boots. I am 72 years old and have planters fasciitis in both feet. The boots feel good but my style is round toe. Help me out and offer e wides in the round toe.

One minor complaint. These boots have made my other boots dust collectors. Really like the unique style. Distinctly western but have a look unlike every other square toe roper heel boot out there. Comfortable? Absolutely. The heel is somewhere between a roper and a riding heel, so a little taller profile. I bought the rough-out and love the toughness, not worried about scratching, scraping or scuffling. I wear a 10.5 B but the 10.5 D fits me perfectly! Go to Rose Anvil on YouTube to see the inside of this boot. That’s what convinced me to fork over 600 bucks. Are these boots worth the price? Absolutely.

Overall the boot looks great, but upon close inspection, there are a few quality issues with the build. Main issues is one of the boot straps inner stitching was
off but quite a bit so there is a lot of slack that uncomfortably bends upwards when removing the boot. Even worse was my left boot sole shape in the front was not cut very well and the shape is really odd (almost looks like i'm wearing two right boots) and it sticks out a bit further then the right boot. I figure as with all of my other boots, they will eventually scuff down over time and will not be as noticeable then they are now with being all new and smooth and shiny. The boot comes with a really thick inner (almost athletic) sole. It is too thick for a cowboy boot and you'll have to size up at least a half size if you want to keep it in. Wish they offered a non cushioned insole version with a standard leather bottom. When I removed the inside, sole, my size I ordered fit properly. However the bottom then was an unfinished rough material so I had to put in a thin dr. scholl type insert to cover that up and for a better feel. All in all, if not looking too closely, the boot though looks nice, however at the 600$ price point, I would have expected a better built boot.

Very impressed with the staff and the boots. Our experience at the shop was excellent. I walked 3 miles in the new boots a few days later and the break in was minimal and had no foot pain. Very comfortable boots!
