This is a comfortable boot right out of the box. A little pricey but a good boot nevertheless.
I have been a huge fan of Chisos Boots since learning about the company via one of the interviews Will Roman did after starting the company. Years later, my bank account definitely has a lower balance due to my fondness for Chisos boots. After several purchases of the No 1s, No 2s, No 5s and No 6s, I knew that I would eventually end of with the King Ropers. Since purchasing the King Ropers, they have quickly become one of my favorites. The craftsmanship and the comfort of the boots is incredible.
Ostrich has always been one of my favorite exotic skins and I have had several pairs over the years from other brands. With Chisos, there is definitely a difference in the leather that is used versus competitors. The King Ropers are set apart by the smooth ostrich on the shafts which compliments the full quill ostrich on the vamps.
It's probably a good thing that I no longer live in Texas. I probably would be a regular visitor to their storefront in Austin which would not be good for my bank account. I definitely appreciate the company that founder Will Roman and team have created. I look forward to see where they take company in upcoming years.
Do right, love Texas and buy a pair of Chisos (two pairs or even a dozen pairs). They're definitely from other boot offerings.
Great fit and craftsmanship! Love ‘em’!
I have all kinds of boots and these are the best, buy them you wont regret it
If you’re on the fence about buying these , pull the trigger! The quality and fit of these boots are second to none. They are absolutely beautiful and super comfortable! They arnt cheap, but they are worth every penny!!
Great fit, high quality, great look.
I was in town to get an adjustment on another pair of boots, and Chief Texan Will had these bad boys on. They looked great and I decided right then that I had to have a pair. Trying them on really gives you a sense of how well made they are. I highly recommend these boots for those who will not settle for anything but the best.
These are my first pair of Chisos boots, and were a “pre 60th” birthday present from my wife, along with a matching Chisos belt and a Vogt Silversmith’s sterling buckle.
The comfort out of the box was nothing like I’ve experienced in any other brand of cowboy boot I own, or have owned over the years. That includes 2 current pair of Lucchese, many Noconas, Mercedes’ of Rios, Justin’s etc over my near 6 decades. At this point, I only have 3 full days of wearing them on a long weekend getaway, but the trip involved a lot of walking on concrete sidewalks and fancy pathways. I experienced zero break-in issues such as hot spots, rubbing sores, or anything else that usually comes with the break-in of traditionally made cowboy boots.
One other observation I’d like to mention is the ostrich hide itself. I have another pair of full quill ostrich boots from Lucchese, though it’s only the vamp and counter, not the shaft. The hide that these Chisos boots were made from is noticeably thicker, and yet just as soft and supple as my Lucchese’s. Hopefully, that means they won’t stretch and loosen as much as my Lucchese’s have. Time will tell…
Based on my initial impressions of the comfort and quality of these King Ropers, I have a pair of No. 1’s in roughout leather on the way to replace my current daily wear farm boots. I can’t wait to long term test them in non dress-up dirty life mode.
My first pair of boots ever. In my opinion I think I went with one of the best companies out there. I found out about this company through a YouTube review on the ostrich boots. I never owned a pair so I wasn't sure about sizing so I went down to a nearest boot barn and tried on some boots that looked similar to some roper boots. I still had a few questions so I emailed them one night the next morning I had a response from them answering all my questions. I purchased my boots later on that day, I was anxious waiting for my boots I was worried that they wouldn't fit. When I finally got them I was amazed at the smell that came out of the box and the quality of the boots the box included some stickers a letter and a koozie. My first try on was a little tight but they get easier to slip on after you wear them more and more. I try not to put them on as much just because the boots are super nice and don't want to mess them up. You definitely get a lot of looks and questions asking what they are and where you got them from. I already have my eyes on a few other pairs I plan on purchasing. Great quality and excellent customer service you can't go wrong with Chisos!
Awesome boots! I ordered the King Roper Ostrich boots three weeks ago. They arrived three days later and oh my goodness, they were impressive! The leather aroma when I opened the box was indescribable. The boots are handcrafted and are a work of art. They were comfortable on my feet from day one, and I've been styling ever since. And as an extra bonus, my girlfriend loves them! This is the most I've ever paid for a pair of boots, but they are worth every penny. Kudos to Chisos for the attention to detail and excellent customer service. I will definitely buy from Chisos again.
