Our Best-Selling Boot
Meet the Chisos No. 2, the most popular Chisos boot ever designed. Durable and comfortable. Dress it up or down. Moving comfortably between the ranch and the city, the No. 2 is a true all-around boot.
Specifically tanned to complement the heritage nature of our leathers, each pair is hand-brushed to reveal its unique story. Natural variances in leather tone and texture ensure your boots stand apart.
And once you pull 'em on for the first time, there's no turning back.
Your Chisos boots will last decades with appropriate attention. The vamp (leather surrounding the foot) and leather shaft require only minimal care. Condition this leather about once every three months. Store in a cool, dry location and take a day off between heavy uses to allow the insides to properly dry.
The leather soles of your boots are designed to wear out and be replaced, much like the brakes on your pickup truck. Your mileage will vary depending on conditions of use, your weight, and your walking style. Avoid repeated exposure to water and excess moisture. When needed, a cobbler can perform a full resole and heel replacement.
To extend the life of new soles, have a cobbler apply a rubber sole saver upon receipt. No matter what, physics is going to win against leather soles and stitching. To slow the process, a cobbler can add some rubber to mitigate.
I set out with the objective of buying footwear that would last me a lifetime and would be appropriate for casual, office, (outdoor) work, and even formal settings. I’m familiar with quality shoe construction, so I did my research and decided on Chisos. These are the first cowboy boots I’ve ever owned, so I probably don’t know just how good I have it by going with Chisos. I am quite happy with my decision: the boots are excellent and the company is delightful to work with.
I was apprehensive because I’m a 13.5E, I had ordered the 13EE No. 2 in Roughout, and I did not know what to expect in the fit (again, first cowboy boots). They looked great (my wife concurred!) and the fit was reasonably decent enough so I ordered another pair of 13EE No. 2 in Magic Black. That pair fit even better out of the box, broke in faster than the roughouts, and are very comfortable to wear all day long both in the office and around the homestead. I then noticed a manufacturing defect in one of my roughouts which Chisos promptly and cheerfully rectified by exchanging them. The replacement pair of roughouts fit even better and are even more comfortable than the first. After unboxing I wore them for two-and-a-half days straight with zero discomfort and they’re absolutely fantastic!
These two pairs of boots are an investment, for sure, but I think I’ve achieved my objective.
I recently purchased a pair of boots from another well known Texas brand, for half the price of a pair of Chisos. You get what you pay for. The quality and construction were horrible. I sent them back for a refund and ordered a pair of Chisos Brushed Brown No. 2s. With some small flaws in one of the Chisos, I sent those back for a no-hassles exchange. I've now worn the replacement No. 2s for 8 days.
The fit and sizing are perfect for my 11 EE feet. They are really stiff, with thick leather that I thought would take months to break in. But after a couple of weeks, they are already starting to soften up inside the heel and vamp. Break-in will probably only be weeks instead of months. The comfort is so great that I immediately started wearing them for 12 hour days. I have a mostly indoors, mostly desk work job, only walking about a mile a day.
I agree that they seem overpriced. So in my mind, I tell myself I am paying $400 for the boots, and $195 for the excellent customer service. And for me, customer service really is worth it. Despite being a bit high-priced, I am planning on getting a second pair in the Magic Black. Just have to figure out my boot budget.
Amazing boots! From the service to the quality absolutely can’t miss with Chisos!
Stylish, comfortable, and exceptional quality!
I’ve only owned a few pairs of boots. These are by far the most comfortable boots. I will buy more!!!
So far so good! Can’t wait to see how they age over time!
I, like many others saw all the YouTube videos about how great and amazing Chisos boots were. I was nervous about spending the money at first but after I got them, not only the presentation of the unboxing but the look, durability and comfort was like nothing I’ve ever felt before! The boots were a little stiff at first but once you had them on your feet a few hours a day for a days they went from comfortable to “holy cow how can it be getting better!!” I will 100% be back to purchase more boots in the future! Thank you Chisos for truly standing up to what you believe in and making the best damn cowboy boot money can buy hands down!
As a Texan my boots are also a sense of pride. And Chisos definitely makes a high quality boot. As proven by Rose Anvil in his cut in half analysis. The only break in required is to scuff the leather sole and you are ready to wear. Thanks for making an excellent boot. TexMex at its best.
I was skeptical to spend this much money on a pair of boots, but after thoroughly vetting them I went ahead and jumped on board. All I can say is that I love them, now! I have a wide foot with a narrow heel, so sizing boots, especially pull-on boots as they tend to get sloppy if I go up a half size. Despite all of the "out of the box comfort" reviews that I saw, I expected there to be a break in period. I opted to go for an 8D instead an 8EE or 8.5D for this reason. As expected they were tight and uncomfortable (but NOT painful). I used a lacrosse ball to stretch the top of the vamp (as suggested by the excellent folks with Chisos customer service) overnight and wore thick socks for a few days. Now the boots fit great and are extremely comfortable! I've already ordered a pair or No. 1s! All this to say, do not be discouraged if you experience some discomfort in the beginning, some of us will require a proper break-in. It's worth it! I promise!
Some brands advertise by talking about the "fit of your life", chisos should do it. These boots are comfortable right out of the box. They mold to your foot quickly and permanently. I have narrow feet and I have always cheated with my boots by unfortunately taking a size too small in length. The Chisos team was great in their advice and recommended the correct true size. I think this is the beginning of a long collaboration between Chisos and me... With kind regards from France. Kim
