Generally boots will match the same size you wear in other leather footwear. If you normally waiver between two sizes, select the larger size.

The conversion between men's and ladies' is approximately 1.5-2 size increments. For example, a Men's 7 D is a Ladies' 8.5 or 9.

The leather soles of your boots are designed to wear out and be replaced, much like the brakes on your pickup truck. Your mileage will vary depending on conditions of use, your weight, and your walking style. Avoid repeated exposure to water and excess moisture.

When needed, a cobbler can perform a full resole and heel replacement.

How to clean and condition your boots.

Size & fit help

Start with your Brannock size

Chisos boots match the size recommendations of a Brannock device. Otherwise your usual size in leather footwear is a good starting point.

Choose your width

D is our standard width, and most Chisos customers find it works great. EE is offered on select styles: same length, just wider.

Wide foot, but no EE in your style?

A half size up in D width gives you more room and works for many men. Each half size is only 4mm longer.

High arch or high instep?

Order a half size up. That adds only about 4mm of length but noticeably more room over the top of your foot, which is where a high instep needs it.

Different-sized feet?

Fit the larger foot. Order the size that works for your bigger foot, then use a thicker sock or a thin insole on the other side.

Does boot toe shape change my size?

Usually, no. Toe shape changes the space in front of your toes. Your toes should sit flat, and the ball of your foot should sit at the boot’s widest part. Don’t size down just to fill the tip.

Nothing quite like it

The Chisos No. 2—now available in full-quill ostrich. Tanned to perfectly compliment the brushed-brown Chisos heritage cowhide leather you know and love, you will only fully appreciate how stunning it is when you unbox it for yourself.

Selectively-bred South African AAA grade ostrich feels plush without sacrificing durability. Natural variances in leather tone and texture give each pair a unique presence.

Expect your Chisos ostrich boots to feel a little stiff upon arrival. This is by design; the leather breaks in perfectly without becoming floppy (as lower grades are known to do).

The only downside is the time you’ll spend thanking people for their compliments.

Your Chisos boots will last decades with appropriate attention. The vamp (leather surrounding the foot) and leather shaft require only minimal care. Condition this leather about once every three months. Store in a cool, dry location and take a day off between heavy uses to allow the insides to properly dry.

To extend the life of new soles, have a cobbler apply a rubber sole saver upon receipt. No matter what, physics is going to win against leather soles and stitching. To slow the process, a cobbler can add some rubber to mitigate.
