Love my new NO 2’s super comfortable and built heavy duty! These cannot be compared to other boot brands, they are in a league of their own!
These boots are the most comfortable boots I’ve ever owned.
I’ll be honest, when I first took delivery of the boots, I was beyond excited. My heart was racing and I was elated to actually buy my first pair of brand new boots from such a wonderful group of people. The smell of the leather, the texture of the grain, the suppleness that surprised me even after a few times of just holding them; these boots were and still are, a treat for the senses. After the initial excitement wore off, I suddenly had a dilemma. What kind of story could I give these boots. Well, after a couple weeks of mundanely wearing them around the house and admiring the sheer attention given to the overall quality, something fell into my lap. Literally. It was when a friend of mine tossed a voltmeter for a tractor at me and invited me over to his second job so we could see about his purchase. That’s when it all started. Between taking apart the fuel system on a ‘52 Ferguson TO30, to riding shotgun in a half built Packard doing donuts in a field, to having some beers with some grade school friends while their chihuahuas chased their chickens, and finally driving 140 miles through cities and highways. After all was said and done, I hadn’t realized they had been on my feet for over 9 hours from that morning to that afternoon. The “break-in” period in these? Where? I think it took them about 30 minutes of mild flexing to fit my feet. The sizing after standing in them is perfect; once the insole compresses and molds to your foot, it really opens your eyes to how much shock your feet are getting in lesser boots. This brings me to that aforementioned quality. This leather is soft. No, I mean REALLY soft. Like, “butter your hands and season a turkey” or “melted beeswax balm” SOFT. That doesn’t mean that it’s all show and no go. Far from it. The sole on these is one of the thickest I’ve seen on a Cowboy Boot, but about right for a Harness or Engineer boot. If I had to guess, I would say there’s a very stout midsole in these which will be great for longevity. Add the insoles they come with and you can get up to a pretty good stride if you wanted to in these. Those insoles also have a hidden positive that I never thought of. If your feet are like mine and flex easily still, the support gets better if, say, you drive long distances over, say, hiking an 8 mile trail just because you felt like it. So far I haven’t done any mechanical work in these, but I have absolutely no reservations about them not being up to it. I have a feeling I won’t be tired of these boots for a long, long time. Thank you everyone at Chisos. I can’t wait until I work my way through your whole line.
This is MY TAKEAWAY based on what I know about Chisos. I've been searching for a boot that I would love to wear on a daily basis, you know...really be exited about the look, feel, fit and finish. The perfect imperfections, that molded to my foot feel, the slipper experience. Let me say it this way...My Chisos feel the way I was hoping and expecting my Lucchese's to feel after spending hundreds and reading about how special they are. I have several brands now and NONE OF THEM COME EVEN CLOSE. Another important thing to understand is how picky I am, and I dont except anything less the greatness...that goes for myself and my business as well. So please, if you are serious about a great pair of boots, take the time to research not only them but also Will and his approach to life, business, fairness and respect. Understand, these are my impressions and opinions but I feel I am a good judge of character and know quality when I see (and feel), it.
This is my first pair of Chisos Boots! All I can say is, this is the best crafted, most comfortable and absolutely the most beautiful pair of cowboy boots I have ever owned! They really feel amazing right out of the box!! Thank you !!!! James Swertel
They are the most beautiful and most comfortable boots I’ve ever owned! I’m torn between wearing them all the time or displaying them prominently in my home like a trophy. I can’t wait for this quarantine to end here in Virginia in June, so I can show them off to everyone. As a Texas Ex and ex patriot living on the east coast, I can think of no better way to show my love and pride of being a Texan than these boots. I imagine my friends will want their own pair. I love my Chisos No. 2s! Thank you!
From first seeing these boots online I knew I had to have a pair one day. The first thing that drew me to them was the color of the leather (inside and out) and the toe shape. When I eventually placed my order and received the boots, I immediately noticed the quality of the materials, the fantastic smell of leather, the beautifully stitched toe bug and shaft which to me is pure art and not forgetting the personal handwritten note from Katie. I have a number of boots from various manufacturers and was interested but skeptical about the claims about the comfort of the insoles but for sure these are the most comfortable boots that I own even though they are the newest. I have been recommending Chisos to friends and colleagues and am very proud to be a little part of the Chisos story through my first edition No. 2's and very much look forward to seeing what Will and Katie have planned for the future. Great job y'all!
I have found my boot company! My Chisos #2 have been a pleasure to break-in. The quality of the craftsmanship is exceptional. I highly recommend this boot and company.
These No. 2 boots are as beautiful as boots as the Chisos are as mountains. I love the design elements like the pictograph motif fine stitching, the red stripe on the sole, the cactus fruit-colored interior, and the crude stitching on the boot loops. Their subtle sophistication sets them apart from other peer brands. I have used the self-isolation period to get them broken in around the house, and they now fit perfectly. I’m not going to use them for utility purposes like riding horses or working in a pasture, though — they are way too nice for manual labor.
Comfort was unparalleled right out of the box. About to order another pair!
