For all returns, items must be in like-new condition without scratches nor scuffs. We recommend trying on your boots on carpet to ensure proper fit.
Chisos boots fit true to size according to US shoe standards. Simply order the size that you wear most often.
Generally boots will match the same size you wear in other leather footwear, or a half size smaller than your athletic shoes. If you normally waiver between two sizes, select the smaller size.
The conversion between men's and ladies' is approximately 1.5-2 size increments. For example, a Men's 7 D is a Ladies' 8.5 or 9.
The leather soles of your boots are designed to wear out and be replaced, much like the brakes on your pickup truck. Your mileage will vary depending on conditions of use, your weight, and your walking style. Avoid repeated exposure to water and excess moisture.
When needed, a cobbler can perform a full resole and heel replacement.

Your Chisos boots will last decades with appropriate attention. The vamp (leather surrounding the foot) and leather shaft require only minimal care. Condition this leather about once every three months. Store in a cool, dry location and take a day off between heavy uses to allow the insides to properly dry.

To extend the life of new soles, have a cobbler apply a rubber sole saver upon receipt. No matter what, physics is going to win against leather soles and stitching. To slow the process, a cobbler can add some rubber to mitigate.
For a period of time that is close to 30 years I haven't owned any cowboy boots mainly due to the fact that just weren't comfortable. Recently I decided to look at cowboy boots again to see if there were any advances in comfort on the market. Upon finding Chisos boot company and doing extensive research on the company, owner, and their boots I decided to order a pair of #2's in brushed brown and give them a try. To put it mildly I was not disappointed! Fantastic boots, truly comfortable out of the box and getting better with every wear. Of course during my research and looking at the various styles they had I could not help but notice the stunning anniversary reserve alligator boot listed. The description had them only available during reserve windows but the pictures of them were enough to plant a seed of desire in my mind. Absolutely gorgeous! The day after Thanksgiving I received notice that a "reserve window" was now open. I wasted no time in ordering them and then had to chomp on the bit waiting for the early 2026 ship date. When the boots finally arrived I unpacked them from their fancy box and bags and tried them on. I had ordered the same size as my #2's (11D) which fit perfectly, but these gator boots were too tight. Upon talking with Gannon I shipped them back to switch out for some 11.5's. The return shipment had some delays due to a massive snow/ice storm and some fun with Fed Ex logistics but it finally arrived. Upon opening the second shipment my first concern was the fit. Slipped them on and they fit perfect! With the fit problem solved I now took the time to look the boots over closely. These baby's are exquisite! Not only is the alligator and leather top quality but the craftsmanship is paramount from the hand tooled Chisos mountains to the perfect stitch lines on every seam. They look fantastic in the pictures but it's a whole new level to hold them in your hands and to slide them on your feet! Big thanks go to Gannon for your help on the fit and with Fed Ex. More thanks to Will and the rest of the Chisos crew for the class and integrity to produce such outstanding boots! It's an absolute pleasure to be able to wear cowboy boots that are comfortable all day after all these years. I love my #2's but these alligator boots are really a thing of beauty!

I was lucky to get a pair, and they’ve become the one item people comment on more than anything else I own. What I love about them:
1. Build Quality (Legit, Not Marketing-Speak)
Chisos builds these like they expect them to outlive you. Stitching, welt, heel stack, etc...Chisos does not take shortcuts and you feel it when you put them on. In a world where “premium products” often hide cheap internals, these actually feel engineered.
2. Details You Actually Notice
From presentation when you unbox them, to the shaft etching of the Chisos mountains and the hand-cut gator panels: None of it feels gimmicky. An incredible amount of thought and care went into these boots, and you know it the moment you put them on.
3. The Red Line
That single red line in the heel against an all-black boot reminds me of the SR-71 Blackbird: stealthy, purposeful, and cool without needing to advertise it. (As a kid, I thought the SR-71 was as cool as cool could get.)
4. Fit & Comfort (Pay Attention—Gator Is Different)
Alligator does not stretch like cowhide or ostrich. If you’re between sizes, err on the slightly roomier side. For all of my boots, I start with thin socks and transition to thicker ones as they break in. With the gator boots, four years later and I’m still wearing the thinnest boot socks I can find. It's not a problem, these boots feel great, but don’t expect them to “give” like softer leathers.
5. Break-In & Real-World Use
Break-in is minimal. Chisos nailed the insole and the last. Durability? I’ve worn them to dinners, events, and on concrete floors. There has been no peeling or weird creasing. Gator holds up. Travel? Absolutely. They pack flat and don’t scuff easily.
6. Value
These boots are showstoppers and an incredible value for what you get. If they were built by some other legacy boot makers in this hide and build quality, they’d cost triple.

I’ve had my Chisos Anniversary Edition Gator Boots for a few years now, and I still only pull them out for special occasions—because they’re truly something special. I originally bought them for my wedding in 2021, and they didn’t just complement my tuxedo… they elevated it. I felt like a million bucks walking down the aisle.

Admittedly, I was pretty nervous about ordering these special boots online, but Allison was so helpful and walked me through the process. She answered all of my questions and concerns. After I received my boots they were too tight. So I shipped them back and Will worked his magic. He stretched them out and changed out the insoles. I came into town and both he and Allison waited for me after hours to ensure that the boots fit better. He even pulled the boots off of my feet!! Does your CEO do that?
