Our Best-Selling Boot
Meet the Chisos No. 2, the most popular Chisos boot ever designed. Durable and comfortable. Dress it up or down. Moving comfortably between the ranch and the city, the No. 2 is a true all-around boot.
Specifically tanned to complement the heritage nature of our leathers, each pair is hand-brushed to reveal its unique story. Natural variances in leather tone and texture ensure your boots stand apart.
And once you pull 'em on for the first time, there's no turning back.
Your Chisos boots will last decades with appropriate attention. The vamp (leather surrounding the foot) and leather shaft require only minimal care. Condition this leather about once every three months. Store in a cool, dry location and take a day off between heavy uses to allow the insides to properly dry.
The leather soles of your boots are designed to wear out and be replaced, much like the brakes on your pickup truck. Your mileage will vary depending on conditions of use, your weight, and your walking style. Avoid repeated exposure to water and excess moisture. When needed, a cobbler can perform a full resole and heel replacement.
To extend the life of new soles, have a cobbler apply a rubber sole saver upon receipt. No matter what, physics is going to win against leather soles and stitching. To slow the process, a cobbler can add some rubber to mitigate.
I've recently been bitten by the cowboy boot bug. I already had a good pair of basic light brown boots from another brand that suited me well, even though I didn't wear them often. That changed when I learned about Chisos and found out their HQ is right here in Austin, where I live.
I went on a bit of a run: first a pair of amazing python boots, then a very fancy pair of ostrich quill. Finally, I bought my Chisos No. 2s. Simply put, I like the Chisos best of the three. I'm not normally a square toe guy, but the subtle square on the No. 2 is perfect. Something about the look, shape, and design really sets it apart from the other boots I'd just bought.
The boots arrived quickly in a sturdy box, and what's inside is what sets Chisos apart. Each boot came in a high-quality fabric bag, along with a classy touch: a handwritten note from an employee thanking me for the purchase and telling me to enjoy them. That personal touch was incredible.
When I took them out, they filled my house with the smell of rich leather. The leather is sublime — supple and soft — and the color is beautiful.
Now the fit. I wear a 9.5 in all my sneakers, work boots, and other cowboy boots, and I'd call these true to size, if a touch snug. The length is right; the top of the foot and the midfoot are a little tight, but I know they'll break in and the leather will stretch. These feel like the highest quality boots I've ever put on.
My only con is the break-in. I haven't worn them every day over the last few weeks, and that leather is strong, so I've been wearing them around the house to speed things up. They also squeak a bit when I walk. I wasn't sure if that was part of the process, but when I reached out, Chisos told me it goes away as the leather settles.
I also picked up a belt in the same color to match. I wear a 32 in jeans and bought the 34 belt — it fits perfectly, and the holes are set closer together so you can really dial in the fit. Same excellent leather as the boots.
Last was a bootjack, which is a gamechanger if you don't like pulling your boots off the old fashioned way. They slide right off.
I absolutely love these boots. You can tell how much thought and care went into them, and between the quality and the customer service, I'd happily own several more pairs.
So I’ve been working in the boot industry off and on since high school, and worn boots my entire adult life via work and casual wear. However, never western boots as I’ve mostly lived in the Rocky’s and in the PNW, so worn logger style boots, combat boots in the military, and lace up casual boots like Red Wings. Chisos is my first western pair of boots, and I’ve gotta say, they’ve hooked me.
My general assumption of the current western boot industry was based off of what I’d seen with Justin, Tony Lama’s, Lucchese’s etc. charging absurd amounts for fast fashion boots made with crumby synthetic materials which can’t be rebuilt, reconditioned, or re-lasted well. The idea of a riding boot but with all the build quality corporate profit maximization could offer. Not so with Chisos.
These Chisos are built well, plenty of high-quality dairy cow leather which makes them supple but still durable. The hand-dyed leather on my No. 2s has tremendous character, they were day 1 comfortable and have only gotten better after the in-step has conformed to my foot over time. I’ll likely get a second pair soon because I want to beat the ones I have up and keep a pair nice for nights out.
Additionally, I bought mine in-person in their Austin, TX location, and would highly recommend this to any who are willing and able. The staff was knowledgeable, kind, and professional. The location was clean and very nice.
Thanks Chisos.
I give this company a five star rating for their craftsmanship.
I’m extremely happy with my new Chisos boots. The quality, craftsmanship, and comfort are exceptional, and they look even better in person. The customer service was also excellent—friendly, helpful, and professional throughout the whole process.
I couldn’t be happier with my purchase and would highly recommend Chisos to anyone looking for a truly great pair of boots.
My Chisos boots are one of a kind. The comfort, fit and appearance are the best I have ever worn.
Thank you to the Chisos team for creating this work of art. he heart and soul that is present is remebered in every step.
I have two pairs of #1s and have tried the ropers, but the wider toe justs fits my foot shape better. I hate the look of square toed boots, but this boot is subtle.
comfortable with minimal break-in and they look great
Amazing boots, amazing service, and quality. Everyone here goes above and beyond to assist you in finding the right boot.
I received a pair of Chisos No. 2 boots as a Father's Day gift, and they've exceeded my expectations. They're incredibly comfortable right out of the box, look fantastic, and the craftsmanship is outstanding. You can tell they're built with quality materials and attention to detail. This was an amazing gift, and they've quickly become my favorite pair of boots. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a boot that combines comfort, style, and durability.
The build quality of this bot surpassed my expectations. As the bot continues to break in, it is getting more and more enjoyable to wear.
This was a solid purchase and I am sure I will return in the future for additional boots.
